Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas reflects on his 100th Champions League appearance last night
Cesc Fabregas has taken to Instagram to reflect on the Chelsea midfielder’s 100th Champions League appearance.
The Spain international played 79 minutes of the west London side’s 2-1 victory over Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Fabregas hasn’t won the Champions League although the former Arsenal captain was part of Arsene Wenger’s side that lost 2-1 to Barcelona in the 2006 showpiece in Paris.
And the 28-year-old will be hoping to help Jose Mourinho’s men reach the 2016 final after Chelsea boosted their prospects of reaching the knockout phase last night.
Fabregas wrote on the photo-sharing app: “100 CL games ⚽️👏”
Chelsea captain John Terry was also celebrating his own milestone on Instagram earlier on Thursday after making an English record 107th start in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Aleksandar Dragovic turned Willian’s cross into his own net to help Chelsea break the deadlock in the first half, before the Dynamo Kyiv midfielder scored at the other end as he beat Asmir Begovic.
However, Willian’s superb free-kick on 83 minutes secured three points for Chelsea.
