John Terry has taken to social media to congratulate himself on making an English record 107th start in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Chelsea captain helped Jose Mourinho’s men return to winning ways in Europe’s elite club competition with a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kyiv at Stamford Bridge.

The result was much-needed for the west London club, who had lost their last three games on the spin heading into the game.

And Terry was quick to give himself a public pat on the back after playing his part in the win.

Terry uploaded the photo above onto his personal Instagram account on Thursday morning and wrote: “Unbelievable personal achievement making my 107th start in the champions league. The most ever by an Englishman.”

Aleksandar Dragovic turned Willian’s cross into his own net to help Chelsea break the deadlock in the first half, before the Dynamo Kyiv midfielder scored at the other end as he beat Asmir Begovic.

However, Willian’s superb free-kick on 83 minutes secured three points for Chelsea.
