John Terry watched some Chelsea stars of the future in action at Cobham on Monday

John Terry used some of his free time on Monday morning to watch Chelsea’s Under-21 side in action against Sunderland at their Cobham training ground.

The Chelsea captain was forced to sit out Sunday’s goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League due to an ankle injury.

Terry has been working on his fitness at Chelsea’s training ground in recent days and will be hoping to have recovered in time to face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the top flight on Saturday.

And the former England international, who suffered his injury against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Champions League last week, spent some time watching some of the Blues’ stars of the future as they took on Sunderland in the behind-closed-doors clash.

Terry shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Just watching the U21 game at the training ground. Chelsea Vs Sunderland ⚽️ @chelseafc”

Sunday’s draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane left the Blues in 14th place in the Premier League table and 14 points behind leaders Manchester City after 14 games.
