Christian Benteke and Simon Mignolet were all smiles as the Liverpool duo trained with their Belgium team-mates on Wednesday.

The Reds duo were unable to prevent Jurgen Klopp’s side suffering their first defeat under the German on Sunday afternoon after a 2-1 defeat by Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Axel Witsel, who was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, has been touted as a target for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.

And the Zenit St Petersburg star was all smiles with Benteke and Mignolet after winning a game of five-a-side in Belgium training ahead of this weekend’s friendlies.

The Red Devils face Italy in Brussels on Friday night before hosting reigning European champions Spain on Tuesday night.

Benteke has scored four goals and has made one assist in eight Premier League games for the Reds since his £32.5m move to Anfield from Aston Villa in the summer.
