Mamamdou Sakho has sent a message to former Liverpool target Kingsley Coman after the Bayern Munich star received his first call-up to the France squad.

The Bayern youngster was named in Didier Deschamps’s latest 23-man squad for Les Bleus’s upcoming game against Roy Hodgson’s England.

Coman was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window, whilst Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United were also thought to be interested.

The 19-year-old moved to Juventus after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in 2014, before he joined Pep Guardiola’s side on loan in the summer with a view to a permanent transfer.

Liverpool centre-half Sakho, who left boyhood club PSG for Anfield in a £16m deal in 2013, sent a message to his former team-mate after Coman’s international call-up.

Sakho wrote on his Instagram page: “I wanted to congratulate @ king_coman11 for his debut with the equipedefrance Football !! Kingsley Congratulations ! #equipedefrance #nationalteam”

Coman has scored two goals and has made five assists in 10 appearances in all competitions for Bayern.
