Andreas Pereira and Marouane Fellaini help fire Man United's Under-21 side to victory over Liverpool

Marouane Fellaini and Andreas Pereira have found their first-team opportunities limited in recent months.

The Belgium international has been limited to a string of appearances from the bench, whilst Pereira has only racked up three appearances in all competitions.

However, the United duo were happy to line out for United’s Under-21 side against bitter rivals Liverpool at Leigh Sports Village on Monday night.

Fellaini broke the deadlock and was involved in Nick Powell’s goal, before Liverpool levelled thanks to goals from Jerome Sinclair and Madger Gomes.

However, United sealed three points thanks to Sean Goss’s late winner, much to the delight of Pereira who posted the above photo on his Instagram page.

Good win !! Good to have played 90min again after long time !! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Fellaini was a second-half substitute in United’s goalless draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League last week.

The Brazilian’s last appearance came in the final 11 minutes of United’s 2-1 win at Watford earlier this month.
