Matteo Darmain has sent a timely reminder to Louis van Gaal that he is ready to return to the Manchester United side ahead of Wednesday’s clash against PSV Eindhoven.

The Italy international has been in-and-out of the United first-team since the 25-year-old struggled in a 3-0 loss to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium last month.

Darmian, who joined United in the summer transfer window, didn’t feature in the Red Devils’s victories over Watford, West Brom and CSKA Moscow.

However, the former Torino man took to Instagram to show off his new boots and posted a cryptic message ahead of United’s Champions League clash on Wednesday.

The Red Devils are in second place in the Premier League table behind Leicester City.

The Italian defender has started 10 of United’s 13 Premier League games this season.
