Anthony Martial has vowed to work harder after the Manchester United forward was left disappointed by his performance in a 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.

The France international was unable to trouble CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev as United captain Wayne Rooney scored a 79th minute winner in the Champions League group-stage clash at Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old forward has failed to score in his last four appearances for the Red Devils after drawing a blank against Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and CSKA.

And Martial took to his Instagram page to criticise his bad performance but reflect on a good result for Louis van Gaal’s side in their pursuit of a place in the Champions League knockout phase.

Martial wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Bad match for me tonight but good win 💪🏽 #Workhard”
