Marcos Rojo took to Twitter to reflect on Manchester United’s “step by step” improvement after a 2-0 victory over West Brom at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils scored their first Premier League goal since 17 October after youngster Jesse Lingard netted a fine effort in the 52nd minute for the hosts.

Louis van Gaal’s side struggled to consolidate their victory as the United manager replaced Wayne Rooney for Ander Herrera in the second half against the Baggies.

And United finally secured three points when Juan Mata dispatched from the spot-kick after West Brom defender Gareth McAuley fouled Anthony Martial in the 90th minute.

Rojo, who has enjoyed a run at left-back in recent weeks, took to social media to urge his United team-mates to build on their first Premier League win in three attempts.

Rojo has made one assist in five Premier League starts for the Red Devils this season.
