Bastian Schweinsteiger thanks his fans after reaching three million followers on Instagram

Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to social media to thank his fans for their support after he surpassed three million followers on Instagram on Monday.

The Germany midfielder has proved a popular figure at Old Trafford since his transfer to the club from Bayern Munich in the summer and has already made more than 10 Premier League appearances this season.

And Schweinsteiger, who checked in for international duty with Germany on Monday evening, looked in good spirits as he thanked his loyal fans for their support.

Schweinsteiger uploaded the photo above onto his personal Instagram account and wrote: “3 Million followers on Instagram. Thank you guys so much. Your support means a lot to me!”

The World Cup winner featured for the full 90 minutes as he helped United record a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The victory kept United in fourth place in the Premier League table and moved them to within two points of leaders Manchester City after 12 games of the new campaign.

Schweinsteiger has made 12 Premier League appearances for United since joining the club back in July.
