Ruud van Nistelrooy watches Man United draw with PSV on Wednesday night
Ruud van Nistelrooy was all smiles upon the Manchester United legend’s return to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The retired Netherlands striker was in attendance as the Red Devils played out a goalless draw with another of his former clubs, PSV Eindhoven, in the Champions League.
However, United missed Van Nistelrooy’s clinical finishing as Jesse Lingard and Morgan Schneiderlin wasted good chances to book the home side’s place in the knockout stage.
But Van Nistelrooy appeared to enjoy his experience at Old Trafford despite a largely uninspiring performance from the Red Devils in front of one of their former legends.
Van Nistelrooy posted the above snap and wrote on his Instagram page: “Great to be back at old Trafford. @manchesterunited @psv.”
United make the trip to Premier League leaders Leicester City in their next fixture.
Foxes striker Jamie Vardy equalled Van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 successive Premier League games thanks to his strike in a 3-0 win at Newcastle United last weekend.
