Steven Gerrard says he loved every minute of Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday night.

Liverpool made the breakthrough in the seventh minute after Eliaquim Mangala deflected Roberto Firmino’s cross past City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Brazilian duo Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino handed Liverpool a 3-0 lead after 32 minutes before Sergio Aguero offered the Citizens some hope before half-time.

Liverpool centre-half Martin Skrtel sealed three points with a brilliant volley to leave the Reds in ninth place in the Premier League table.

Former Reds captain Gerrard heaped praise on the Merseyside outfit after their emphatic victory at Etihad Stadium.

Gerrard wrote on his Instagram page: “Loved every minute of that boys 🔥😁👍

Liverpool are six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal after the Gunners suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns earlier on Saturday.

The Reds are unbeaten on the road in the Premier League under Klopp after a stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur was followed by victories over Chelsea and Manchester City.
