Toby Alderweireld says he was pleased with Tottenham Hotspur's point against Chelsea
Toby Alderweireld was pleased with a point after Tottenham Hotspur’s hard-fought goalless draw with Chelsea in Sunday’s London derby.
Spurs had chances to beat Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, but Son Heung-min could only direct his header at the Bosnian, whilst the Blues number two made a good save at the feet of Harry Kane.
Reigning PFA player of the year Eden Hazard had the best chance of the clash after his volley required a good save from Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham summer signing Alderweireld took to Instagram to reflect on the north London side’s “fight” with the defending Premier League champions.
Alderweireld wrote on his Instagram page on Sunday: “It was a fight and a tough game after a long week. On to the next one. #Coys”
The Belgium international has scored twice in 14 Premier League appearances for the north London side this season.
Alderweireld moved to Spurs in an £11.5m deal from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
