Man United skipper Wayne Rooney joins his assistant manager Ryan Giggs and West Brom star Darren Fletcher at WWE

Wayne Rooney was all smiles as he joined Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher for a night at the wrestling on Monday.

The Manchester United skipper made the most of a day off before he linked up with England ahead of their upcoming friendlies against Spain and France in the international break.

Rooney was joined by his assistant manager Giggs and West Bromwich Albion midfielder Fletcher for a memorable night at Manchester Arena on Monday night.

The United skipper even took centre stage as he slapped wrestler Wade Barrett during a skit.

Rooney posted the above montage of photos and wrote on his Instagram page: “Thanks to everyone at @wwe for a great night!”

The 30-year-old Red Devils captain was replaced in the second half of United’s 2-0 win against West Brom at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The England international has scored just two goals in 11 Premier League games for the 20-time English champions this season.
