Daniel Sturridge looked to put to bed concerns over his fitness as the Liverpool striker trained with his team-mates at Melwood on Monday.

The Reds forward was named among the substitutes for the visit of Swansea City and the England international managed to get 19 minutes under his belt after he replaced Christian Benteke on Sunday evening.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had revealed that Sturridge had suffered a fresh foot injury which had ruled him out of their 2-1 win against Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City striker hadn’t featured for the Reds before their Swansea win since October’s Merseyside derby after he suffered a knee injury in first-team training.

But Sturridge, who missed most of the 2014/15 campaign with hip and thigh injuries, looks to be on the mend after he trained with Philippe Coutinho and his other Liverpoool team-mates on Monday.
