Piers Morgan has blasted Arsene Wenger after the Arsenal manager insisted that he would take the Europa League seriously if the Gunners exit the Champions League.

The north London side host Dynamo Zagreb in Europe’s premier club competition on Tuesday night following a run of three defeats in four Champions League group-stage games.

Arsenal need to beat the Ukrainian champions to have any chance of reaching the knockout phase after a disastrous European campaign.

Speaking at his post-match media conference on Monday, Wenger was adamant that Arsenal would take the Europa League seriously if the Gunners finished third in Group F.

However, celebrity Gooner Morgan told Wenger that he shouldn’t even be discussing the prospect of playing in Europe’s second-tier competition.

Arsenal suffered their first defeat in seven Premier League games on Saturday afternoon following a 2-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
