Roy Keane says he has always been a fan of Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.

Ozil was instrumental in sealing three points in a must-win game for the north London side after he broke the deadlock with a close-range header in the 29th minute.

Chile international Alexis Sanchez secured the victory with two goals in the 33rd and 69th minute, but Ozil was named man-of-the-match after he continued his impressive run of form in their 3-0 win against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.

The World Cup winner has been involved in 11 goals in Arsenal’s last nine games, and former Manchester United captain Keane insists he is a huge admirer of Ozil.

“I’ve always liked him even last year when people were questioning him. He has settled into the club. He has the quality,” Keane told ITV Sport.

Ozil has scored one goal and has made 11 assists in 12 Premier League games this term.

The club-record signing has also netted twice in five Champions League outings.
