Mesut Ozil has faced his fair share of criticism since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid in a big-money deal back in the summer of 2013.

The Germany playmaker has been accused of failing to live up to his £42.5m price tag following his transfer to the north London club from Los Blancos two summers ago.

However, the 27-year-old has hit the ground running this season and his fine form has helped Arsenal keep pace with leaders Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Ozil produced another impressive display as he helped Arsenal secure a 3-0 win at Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

The World Cup winner set up two of Arsenal’s three goals to take his assist tally in the top flight to nine this season.

And this stat, revealed on Arsenal’s official Instagram account on Saturday evening, shows that Ozil is leading the way in terms of assists in the Premier League since his transfer to the north London club.

Mesut Ozil: Happy to assist

Since making his debut in September 2013, Mesut Ozil has made more assists (23) than any other player in the Premier League.

Ozil has helped Arsenal win back to back FA Cup titles in his first two seasons at the club.
