Simon Mignolet is no stranger to criticism since his move to Liverpool.

The Belgium international has never really convinced for the Merseyside outfit despite managing to win back his place in the Liverpool side after a poor start to the 2014/15 season.

Mignolet’s latest mistake came in a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night after he conceded an indirect free-kick in his own area for holding onto the ball for too long.

The Ligue 1 side scored from the ensuing set-piece before James Milner and Christian Benteke spared the goalkeeper’s blushes to book Liverpool’s place in Europa League last 32.

However, Mignolet had something to celebrate following Sunday night’s 1-0 win at Swansea City after BreatheSport’s stats showed the Liverpool number one has kept more clean sheets than any other Premier League goalkeeper this year.

Mignolet moved to Liverpool in a £9m deal from Sunderland in 2013.
