Thierry Henry: Why Arsenal have ‘killer’ advantage over Tottenham
Thierry Henry looks ahead to Arsenal's north London derby showdown with Tottenham
Thierry Henry has claimed that Arsenal have a “killer” advantage over Tottenham Hotspur heading into Sunday’s north London derby showdown.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men travel to Emirates Stadium looking to gain revenge for their League Cup exit at the hands of their local rivals last month.
Spurs were 2-1 winners over Anderlecht in the Europa League at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.
Arsenal, meanwhile, were thrashed 5-1 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
However, Arsenal legend Henry feels that the extra day’s rest will give Arsene Wenger’s men a significant advantage heading into Sunday’s north London derby showdown.
Henry wrote in the Sun: “Whenever Arsenal are facing Spurs it seems they are always going into the game on the back of a bad result.
“It will be a difficult game because their rivals are also on a good run. But playing on Thursday night is a killer and that will help Arsenal.”
Arsenal head into Sunday’s game in second place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
The Gunners’ next Premier League game is a trip to West Bromwich Albion after the forthcoming international break on 21 November.
