Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris Had a communication breakdown with Vertonghen but escaped unpunished. The Spurs captain was at his best to push Hazard’s venomous volley wide in the second half. 7/10

Kyle Walker He was booked for a nasty challenge on Hazard. He was also humiliatingly nutmegged by Willian. He was powerless to prevent Ivanovic’s cross as Hazard nearly broke the deadlock. 5

Toby Alderweireld The Tottenham centre-half had a scare in the 77th minute when a mistimed header created panic in Lloris’s area. Otherwise, he reigned supreme at the back. 7

Jan Vertonghen He had a nervous moment with Lloris with Pedro sniffing for a loose back-pass. He was booked for a crunching challenging on his compatriot. 6

Danny Rose His final ball was disappointing. He did performed his defensive duties well. 6

Eric Dier The newly-capped England midfielder got an important touch on Pedro’s attempt. Dier impressed in the heart of Pochettino’s midfield with his distribution and ability to break up Chelsea’s attacking moves. 7

Ryan Mason He wanted a penalty after Fabregas appeared to handle the Spurs midfielder’s cross in the area. He completed his defensive duties well. He helped provide Walker cover against Pedro and Hazard. He was forced off due to an ankle injury. 6

Son Heung-min A good header which tested Begovic. He had a half chance in the second half after Lamela’s lifted pass but couldn’t beat Lloris. 6

Mousa Dembele A fantastic touch in the first half had the White Hart Lane crowd cooing. He rescued Alderweireld in the second half with a superb tackle to deny Oscar a shooting opportunity. 7

Christian Eriksen His set-piece delivery wasn’t up to his usual high standards. 6

Harry Kane The Spurs striker had a long-range attempt which Begovic almost spilled. He was booked for a mistimed challenge on Willian. 6

Asmir Begovic The Chelsea No2 took an early knock after a collision with Kane. The Bosnian goalkeeper looked nervous. 6

Branislav Ivanovic He lost Son in the first half but Begovic spared the defender’s blushes. He picked out Hazard with a great ball. Otherwise, Ivanovic looked like a defender lacking confidence. 6

Kurt Zouma His second-half header was carefully watched by Lloris. He managed to tame Kane alongside Cahill. 6

Gary Cahill A solid performance as he was charged with keeping close tabs on Kane. 6

Cesar Azpilicueta He conceded a dangerous free-kick early in the first half which led to a set-piece opportunity for the hosts. He looked off the pace at times. 5

Cesc Fàbregas A woeful pass capped a muted first half. Survived a handball claim at the start of the second half. 6

Nemanja Matic He was booked for a nasty tackle on Eriksen. He did his defensive job in midfield. 6

Willian Willian posed at dead-ball situations. He delivered a perfect cross for Zouma but the France defender couldn’t beat Lloris. Again, one of Chelsea’s best players. 7

Eden Hazard (Man of the match) The Belgian couldn’t keep a first-half effort on target. The Chelsea star was lively which probably explained why the Tottenham players were keen to leave their mark on Hazard. He came closest to breaking the deadlock with a sharp volley. 8

Pedro The £22m summer signing fizzed a vicious shot over the crossbar. The World Cup winner was a livewire for the visitors. 7

Oscar He was limited to harmless long-range attempts. When he finally had a chance to test Lloris in the area, he took too long to shoot. 6
