Glenn Hoddle has hailed Arsenal’s top-class striker Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international ended a seven-game goalless run on Tuesday night after Sanchez scored twice in the north London side’s 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Sanchez, who moved to Arsenal from Barcelona last summer, has also scored six goals in 13 Premier League games this term, building on his excellent first season in the English top-flight.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Hoddle discussed why he rates Sanchez as a world-class player.

“Alexis Sanchez is a top, top quality player. He works hard. He has a clinical finish. He is a wonderful player,” Hoddle told ITV Sport.

Sanchez has netted nine times and has made four assists in 18 games in all competitions for the north London side this season.

The South American was named in the PFA’s Premier League team of the year last term after he netted 16 times in 35 top-flight games.
