Tottenham transfers: Jamie Vardy could complement Harry Kane, says journalist
Richard Keys believes Tottenham should target Leicester striker
Tottenham Hotspur should target Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, according to Richard Keys.
The England international equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 successive Premier League games in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Newcastle United.
Vardy has netted a remarkable 13 goals in 13 games so far this season which has prompted talk of a sensational move to defending champions Chelsea or Manchester United.
However, sports presenter Keys believes Leicester star Vardy could be a perfect strike partner for Tottenham forward Kane.
“What about Spurs? They’ve got less options than Chelsea should something happen to Harry Kane,” Keys wrote on his website.
“He [Vardy] could also play with Kane, who quite likes to drift off the front in that No 10 jersey.”
Kane has been in good form in recent weeks after the 22-year-old scored twice in Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over West Ham United in Sunday’s London derby.
The reigning PFA young player of the year has netted seven times in his last four Premier League games for the north London side.
However, Kane has scored eight of Tottenham’s 24 goals, whilst Vardy has netted 13 of Leicester’s 28 goals.
