Jamie Vardy broke the record for scoring in consecutive Premier League matches with a goal against Manchester United in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium.

The 28-year-old forward netted a brilliant finish after a sweeping counter attack from the home side following a United corner at King Power Stadium.

Vardy held off Ashley Young’s challenges as he slotted a cool finish past David De Gea to put the Foxes ahead in the 24th minute of Saturday’s game.

The goal means that Vardy now holds the all-time Premier League record for scoring in successive top-flight games, with the forward having beaten former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy’s previous tally of 10.

Bastian Schwensteiger headed in an equaliser for Louis van Gaal’s men from a corner before half-time.

The result left United third in the table and one point behind second-placed Leicester.

Saturday’s game inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite updates.
