Watch: John Terry delivers injury update ahead of Tottenham v Chelsea
John Terry gives fans a glimpse into his efforts to be fit for Chelsea's trip to Tottenham Hotspur
John Terry appears to be doing everything in his power to be fit for Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
The 34-year-old had to be carried off on a stretched midway through the second half after the Chelsea centre-half suffered an ankle injury during Tuesday night’s 4-0 win at Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was quick to play down his captain’s chances of featuring in Sunday’s derby at White Hart Lane as the defending champions look to secure back-to-back league wins.
However, Terry, who was named in Uefa.com’s Ultimate Team of the Year squad earlier this week, uploaded the above video of the veteran defender jogging in a HydroWorx pool on Thursday morning.
Terry wrote the following caption on his Instyagram page: “Jogging in the Hydroworx Pool this morning. @chelseafc”
Chelsea need a point from their final Champions League group-stage game against Porto to book their place in the knockout phase.
Tottenham will set a new club record if Spurs avoid defeat by Chelsea on Sunday after a 12-game unbeaten Premier League run.
