David Beckham to Paul Scholes is a combination that worked many times for Manchester United during the glory years.

The retired England midfielders were a key part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side that dominated the Premier League for the best part of a decade before Beckham joined Real Madrid in 2003.

However, the former AC Milan midfielder returned to Old Trafford for the Unicef game between Great Britain & Ireland against the Rest of the World on Saturday evening.

And to the delight of all United supporters in attendance at the Theatre of Dreams, Beckham and Scholes delivered a healthy dose of nostalgia for their adoring fans.

In the above clip, the ex-Paris Saint-Germain midfielder whipped in a delicious, trademark cross for Scholes, who produced one of his classic unmarked runs into the area and guided a header past Edwin van der Sar.

Scholes is currently working as a pundit for BT Sport after he retired for a second time in 2013.

Beckham called time on his playing career in 2013, too, after winning Ligue 1 with PSG.
