Adnan Januzaj delivers Man United update during loan spell
Adnan Januzaj has been keeping a close eye on Manchester United's fortunes during his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund
Adnan Januzaj has revealed that he has been keeping tabs on Manchester United’s season during his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgian youngster was shipped off to the Bundesliga outfit after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal over the summer.
The 20-year-old has been limited to just six Bundesliga appearances so far this season – all of which have come from the substitutes’ bench.
He did start last week’s Europa League loss at the hands of PAOK last week, but the Belgium international admits that he is keen to gain more regular playing time with Dortmund in the second half of the campaign.
And the Manchester United loanee has revealed that he has been keeping a close eye on how the Red Devils’ season has been unfolding.
Januzaj told MUTV: “Of course, I want to play more games. We have a really good team over here and are winning a lot of games. Our ambition is to try to overtake Bayern Munich at the top of the league and we also want to win the Europa League. I can say I feel good at the club, I just need to get more games and I’ll be fine.
“Everywhere you go, you have to fight for a place. It’s not easy, even if you go to a smaller place, you also have to fight for the place and I am ready to fight at any time.
“I will go somewhere on holiday [this winter] to work by myself so hopefully I can do something in the second part of the season.”
He continued: “I check the results as I’m a Manchester United player. I’m still in touch with my friends as I am from there. I’m happy to be a United player but also to come and get more experience abroad.”
United slumped to a disappointing 2-1 loss to Bournemouth on Saturday after their Champions League exit at the hands of Wolfsburg.
