Arsenal look set to be handed a significant boost ahead of Monday’s crunch Premier League clash with Manchester City after Alexis Sanchez was spotted training with the Gunners’ first team on Sunday.
The Chile international has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road at the end of November.
Speaking on Thursday, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that there was a small chance that the talismanic Sanchez could make his return to the squad for Monday’s showdown with the Citizens.
Now, it appears that Sanchez has been taking part in full training with his team-mates, as he was pictured in the background of the photograph above, along with Per Mertesacker, Joel Campbell, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey.
Sanchez’s apparent return hands Arsenal a significant boost ahead of the hectic festive schedule, with the 27-year-old having already scored nine goals for the Gunners this season.
The north London side head into Monday night’s showdown in second place in the Premier League table and five points behind leaders Leicester City, who beat Everton on Saturday.
