Ander Herrera sends message to Man United fans after Chelsea draw

Ander Herrera is determined to help Manchester United turn their stuttering form around

Ander Herrera has promised Manchester United fans that he and his team-mates are ready to work harder than ever to reverse the club’s stuttering form.

The 26-year-old midfielder played the full 90 minutes at Old Trafford on Monday night as the Red Devils produced an improved performance against Chelsea.

United have been criticised for their lack of attacking intent in recent weeks and despite showing signs of encouragement against the Blues, the result extended their winless run in all competitions to eight games.

The Red Devils now turn their focus to preparing for Saturday’s clash with Swansea City at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

And Herrera, who has scored two goals and made two assists in 12 Premier League games so far this season, says he and his team-mates are determined to turn United’s form around.

“You have to fight for luck,” Herrera told MUTV after Monday’s draw with Chelsea. “I think, when you are in this situation, you don’t have to talk. You have to talk on the pitch and we did that. We didn’t win but we were the better team on the pitch and created more chances than them. We cannot say we were much better than Chelsea but we deserved the victory.

“What I can say is we are going to talk on the pitch because we want to make our fans proud. When you see our fans against Stoke, after the game, they were still singing and still supporting us. You really feel… I don’t know how to explain it.

“I want to make them proud as quickly as possible against Swansea. We can do it. They are a tough team, they are not in the best moment, but I haven’t won against them yet. Three games and three defeats. We have to win at home and in front of our fans.”
