Andy Gray is tipping Chelsea to heap yet more misery on Manchester United by claiming a 2-1 win at Old Trafford in Monday night’s crunch clash.

Louis van Gaal has found himself under intense pressure in recent days after his United side slumped to their third straight Premier League defeat at the hands of Stoke City on Boxing Day.

United’s poor run of form in the league has followed their Champions League elimination at the hands of Wolfsburg earlier this month.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are also looking to return to winning ways after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Watford at Stamford Bridge in what was Guus Hiddink’s first game back in charge since Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

However, despite United holding the home advantage, former Everton man Gray is backing Chelsea to take all three points from Monday’s game.

Gray wrote on his blog for Paddy Power: “Neither team is filled with a great deal of confidence. If either side has an advantage confidence-wise it’s Chelsea simply because they have a new coach in. They didn’t win against Watford but they really should have.

“At Old Trafford United will be under a tremendous amount of pressure to win. I’m not so sure they will. I don’t see anything in their play that would worry me if I was at Chelsea.

“If United don’t make a good start then the fans could start to turn pretty easily. I can see Chelsea taking all three points here.

“There won’t be a lot in it but I can see United getting a goal so Chelsea to win 2-1 sounds about right.”
