Andy Gray states his prediction for Southampton v Tottenham
Andy Gray is tipping a 1-1 draw between Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur
Andy Gray has tipped Southampton to hold Tottenham Hotspur to a stalemate at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.
The north London side are looking to return to winning ways on the south coast after a surprise 2-1 defeat by Steve McClaren’s Newcastle United side at White Hart Lane last weekend.
Koeman has his team on the right track, a score draw is on the cards
Tottenham’s loss to the Magpies was their first defeat in the Premier League since the opening day of the season when Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 1-0 at Manchester United.
The Argentine left Southampton for Spurs in May 2014, and Pochettino’s successor Ronald Koeman led the Saints to their best-ever Premier League finish last season.
Former Aston Villa and Everton forward Gray is tipping 12th-placed Saints to leave their ex-manager frustrated on Saturday afternoon.
Gray told Paddy Power: “Spurs will want to return to form after that poor result last week, the way to do that is to go away to a difficult place and play well, but this is tricky. Koeman has his team on the right track, a score draw is on the cards.”
Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League table and are nine points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City.
Spurs have 26 points, whilst the Saints are five points adrift of the north London club.
