Andy Gray: Why Liverpool will easily beat Newcastle United

Andy Gray says Liverpool will ease to a comfortable victory over Newcastle United

Liverpool should make light work of Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon, according to Andy Gray.

The Reds have won their last two Premier League games followings victories over Manchester City and Swansea City.

Liverpool were impressive 6-1 winners against Southampton in the League Cup quarter-final at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.

Steve McClaren’s Magpies outfit suffered a humiliating 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace in their most-recent Premier League fixture.

Former Aston Villa and Everton forward Gray explained why Liverpool will ease to a comfortable victory over Newcastle.

Gray wrote on Paddy Power’s blog: “Liverpool were dominant midweek against Southampton, and Newcastle are in disarray, they were completely sunk by Palace last week and it doesn’t get any easier.”

Liverpool are in sixth place and three points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City ahead of Sunday’s game against Newcastle.

The Reds have beaten Chelsea and Manchester City in their last two Premier League games on the road since Jurgen Klopp took over the reins.
