Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger reveals double Alexis Sanchez injury boost
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reveals that Alexis Sanchez is continuing his recovery from his hamstring injury in Chile

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez has travelled back to his native Chile to continue his recovery from his hamstring injury in a move he says will give a “double benefit” to the Arsenal forward.
The Chile international sat out Saturday’s 3-1 win over Sunderland at Emirates Stadium after suffering the muscular problem during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City last month.
Sanchez is expected to be out of action for a few weeks and Wenger confirmed that the forward has travelled back to his homeland to continue his recovery with his national team doctor.
Asked if there was any risk of Sanchez’s injury being aggravated by the long flight to South America, Wenger is quoted as saying by London 24: “No [there’s no risk].
“He is used to working there with the national team physio.
“I think it will have a double benefit. He will not be miserable here, he will be well-treated there and it will give him a kind of mid-season break, which is what you all want.”

Sanchez has been one of Arsenal’s standout performers this season and has scored nine goals in all competitions for Wenger’s men.
The Gunners take on Olympiacos in their final Champions League group game on Wednesday night.
