Arsenal handed big injury boost in lead-up to Sunderland clash – report
Laurent Koscielny is reportedly set to return to training with Arsenal this week and could be fit to face Sunderland
Arsenal have been handed a significant injury boost in the build-up to their clash with Sunderland with the news that Laurent Koscielny is reportedly set to return to training this week.
The French defender looked in considerable pain as he was forced off early on during the Gunners’ 1-1 draw at Norwich City on Sunday afternoon after picking up a hip injury.
There had been fears that the centre-half could be ruled out for a number of weeks heading into the hectic festive period.
However, the London Evening Standard reports that the France international is set to resume training at London Colney in the next 48 hours, with Arsenal confident that Koscielny will be fit for the visit of Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
Theo Walcott could also be back available after the England forward’s recent lay-off with a calf injury, after the 26-year-old’s post on social media on Tuesday hinted at a comeback.
