Arsenal legend runs rule over ‘outstanding’ Joel Campbell

Liam Brady hails Arsenal forward Joel Campbell

Liam Brady has heaped praise on “outstanding” Joel Campbell after Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Costa Rica international produced his best performance in an Arsenal shirt in Greece as he teed up Olivier Giroud for the France international’s second goal.

Campbell also completed two successful dribbles, had 49 touches in a dominant performance at left wing, as well as making three winning tackles during the Champions League win.

Former Arsenal forward Brady, who won the FA Cup during his career with the north Londoners before he moved to Juventus, was thrilled with Campbell’s performance.

“”I have to say Campbell, who is one of the players who hasn’t really hit the ground running at The Emirates, was outstanding tonight,” Brady told RTE Sport.

“Especially making the chances he did, particularly for Giroud’s goal.”

Campbell moved to Arsenal from Saprissa in 2011 but the South American forward had to wait until early this season to make his first Gunners appearance.

The Costa Rican rose to prominence after his impressive performances in the 2014 World Cup as he helped his national team reach the knockout stage.
