Aaron Ramsey takes part in the global campaign Giving Tuesday by donating a pair of trainers
Aaron Ramsey has taken part in global campaign Giving Tuesday by donating a pair of his New Balance trainers.
The global initiative, which was started in the United states in recent years, is an antidote to the start of the festive shopping period marked by Black Friday.
The Arsenal midfielder used his personal Instagram account to reveal that he was giving away a pair of his trainers as part of the campaign.
Ramsey posted the picture above on the photo-sharing app on Tuesday and wrote: “Participating in #givingtuesday by donating my @newbalance trainers. I challenge you to post a selfie donating trainers anywhere in your community.”
Ramsey has recently returned to action from a hamstring injury for Arsenal and will be expecting to feature when the Gunners host Sunderland at The Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The 24-year-old midfielder played 72 minutes as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Norwich City on Sunday afternoon.
That stalemate left the north London side in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Manchester City.
