Arsenal star Mesut Ozil: I’m playing better than ever
Mesut Ozil discusses his impressive form for Arsenal ahead of Wednesday's trip to Olympiacos
Mesut Ozil says he is playing better than ever ahead of Arsenal’s must-win Champions League clash at Olympiacos.
The Gunners midfielder has already racked up an incredible 12 assists this season after he teed up Olivier Giroud for Arsenal’s opener in a 3-1 win against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
Ozil, who moved to Arsenal in a £42.5m deal from Real Madrid in 2013, has also scored twice in 13 Premier League games for Arsene Wenger’s title contenders this term.
And the Germany international spoke of his belief that his form this season has been the best of his career ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Greece in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
“This season is the strongest season I have ever played. I am in a good way, playing really well. I believe in myself,” Ozil is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“We have the quality to beat them (Olympiacos) and our goal is not to even think about going out of the competition.”
The Gunners head to Greece knowing that they must win the game by a two-goal margin to guarantee their place in the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.
