Arsenal transfers: Agent of reported Spurs target reveals U-turn
Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Adrien Rabiot is happy in French capital despite Premier League interest, says agent
Adrien Rabiot is happy at Paris Saint-Germain despite reported interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to his agent.
The France Under-21 international has been heavily linked with a move to the north London clubs over the past 12 months but a move to the Premier League has failed to materialise despite his struggles at PSG.
The 20-year-old has made 12 appearances for the Ligue 1 leaders in the French top-flight this season after the French youngster managed to move up the pecking order at Parc des Princes this season.
Unsurprisingly following his recent run in Laurent Blanc’s first-team, Rabiot’s agent Arnaurd Pericard insisted that PSG playmaker isn’t interested in a proposed transfer to Napoli or the Premier League ahead of the January transfer window.
“Rabiot in Naples? Maybe on vacation. No one contacted me on the side of the Italian club,” Pericard told Canal Plus.
“Maybe Naples contacted PSG, I can not know, but would suggest that Rabiot would not consider this hidea. Latest contacts with Italian clubs date back two years, when Roma wanted the player.
“It’s true that Rabiot asked to go on loan but now he plays with continuity. He held against Shakhtar and Lyon, things could change and he therefore could ultimately decide to stay at PSG.”
The PSG No25 has scored one goal in 15 appearances in all competitions this season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly looking to bolster his midfield options in the January transfer window following injuries to Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Francis Coquelin.
