Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger on his January window plans
Arsene Wenger gives little away when asked about Arsenal's plans for the January transfer window
Arsene Wenger remained typically coy when quizzed about the speculation linking Arsenal with a host of players as the January transfer window looms large.
The Gunners have been rocked by injuries in recent weeks, with Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla the latest two players to be added to the growing treatment list.
The north London side have been linked with a number of stars as the countdown to the mid-season transfer window gathers pace.
The likes of William Carvalho and John Stones have been touted as targets for the Gunners in recent days as Wenger considers bolstering his squad as Arsenal look to mount a serious title challenge.
However, Wenger gave little away when asked about his plans for the January transfer window on Friday morning.
Wenger told a news conference at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground: “I just tell you exactly the same: we are in December and we focus on tomorrow’s game.
“At the moment I’m more focused to respond tomorrow [against Sunderland], you know.
“I gave the answer last week in the press conference that we will be of course open to look at outside.
“But at the moment what is more important to show how strong we are mentally with what happened to us and that we respond in a very positive way.”
Arsenal head into Saturday’s clash with Sunderland at Emirates Stadium in fourth place in the table and two points behind the leaders.
