Arsene Wenger drops Arsenal hint about January transfer window
Arsene Wenger confirms that he is keen to bolster his Arsenal squad next month due to the club's injury problems
Arsene Wenger has hinted that he is planning to bolster his Arsenal squad during the January transfer window by revealing that he would like to get his business done early next month.
The Gunners have inevitably been linked with a host of players as the mid-season transfer window draws ever nearer and Wenger looks to guide his side to a genuine title challenge.
We are open to do something because we are short
Arsenal are currently two points off the top of the Premier League table heading into Monday night’s crunch clash with Manchester City at The Emirates.
And the Frenchman has admitted that he is “open” to making signings next month due to the north London club’s current injury crisis.
Asked if he would like to get his transfer business done early in January, Wenger told a news conference at Arsenal’s training ground on Thursday morning: “We are open-minded.
“We are not the only ones who can decide about the speed of the transfers because we have to adapt to the availabilities and the speed of negotiations and the willingness of clubs to sell.
“We are open to do something because we are short.”
Arsenal are second in the table following their 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park last weekend.
