Cesc Fabegras: Chelsea can 100 per cent salvage their season

Cesc Fabregas is confident Chelsea can salvage their Premier League season

Cesc Fabregas says Chelsea can 100 per cent salvage their Premier League season.

The defending champions suffered their ninth top-flight defeat of the campaign after a 2-1 loss by surprise leaders Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Monday night.

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side are already a staggering 20 points behind first-placed Leicester, whilst the west London side are 16 points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United in the race to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Remarkably, the Blues are just a point ahead of 18th-placed Swansea City ahead of the visit of fellow Premier League strugglers Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

And Fabregas, who was dropped to the bench for their recent Premier League defeats by Bournemouth and Leicester, is confident Chelsea can still revive their season.

“Yes we can, 100% there is enough time to achieve it. But we have to start from now,” Fabregas is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“Tomorrow waking up, train hard get to Saturday and beat Sunderland, then beat Watford next. It’s all up to us.”

Chelsea have collected just 15 points from a possible 48 after 16 Premier League games this season.
