Chelsea legend: Why I’m bored of watching Van Gaal’s Man United
Pat Nevin says some Man United supporters would rather finish fourth and play good football
Pat Nevin says he is bored of watching Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.
The Red Devils are on a five-game winless run after the 20-time English champions suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat by promoted side Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.
I’m sure there are many United fans who would take third or fourth place but play exciting football

Van Gaal’s men crashed out of the Champions League last week after a dramatic 3-2 loss to Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in Germany relegated United to the Europa League.
Former Chelsea midfielder Nevin believes some United supporters would rather finish third or fourth in the Premier League rather than the Red Devils winning the league but playing boring football.
“I’m bored watching Manchester United,” Nevin told Off The Ball’s Newstalk. “It is really dull.
“Lots of club have personality, but you cannot imagine a United team going out, and even if they win a league with dull 1-0 wins each week, it wouldn’t interest fans.
“They’ve got too much history and too many good times.
“I’m sure there are many United fans who would take third or fourth place but play exciting football.”
United are in fourth place in the Premier League table and five points behind surprise leaders Leicester City following last weekend’s 2-1 defeat by Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side.
