John Terry has taken to social media to congratulate Petr Cech on setting a new Premier League record.

The Arsenal shot-stopper kept his 170th top-flight clean sheet as Arsenal beat Bournemouth 2-0 on Saturday to move to the top of the Premier League table.

Cech notched up most of those shut-outs playing alongside Terry for Chelsea, before his transfer to Arsenal from the west London side back in the summer.

And Chelsea skipper Terry was quick to pay tribute to the Czech Republic international after his record-breaking Monday evening.

Terry shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Congratulations to the big man @petrcech on becoming the all time Premier League clean sheet holder. 170. Well done mate.”

Cech has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal side since joining the north London club in the summer and has been instrumental in helping the Gunners mount a serious bid for the title.

Arsene Wenger’s men are looking to win their first Premier League crown since their famous unbeaten triumph back in the 2003-04 campaign.
