Danny Mills delivers blunt assessment of Man United’s situation
Danny Mills warns that Manchester United must beat both Stoke City and Chelsea in the coming days
Danny Mills has warned Manchester United that they must win their next two games or face a “serious problem” in their bid to finish in the top four this season.
Louis van Gaal watched his Red Devils side slump to a disappointing 2-1 loss to Norwich City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as United’s miserable run of form continued.
The Red Devils were dumped out of the Champions League earlier this month and lost to Bournemouth before their defeat by the Canaries in front of their home fans.
Saturday’s result left United in fifth place in the Premier League table, and increased the pressure on manager Van Gaal.
United take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Boxing Day, before hosting Guus Hiddink’s Chelsea at Old Trafford two days later.
And former England international Mills says United must win those two games or face serious pressure in the coming days.
Mills told BBC Sport: “Manchester United have got Stoke away and Chelsea at home in their next two games.
“If they fail to win in both of those then United will have a serious problem.”
