Eden Hazard says Arsenal flop is most skilful team-mate he’s played with
Well, this is a surprise...
Eden Hazard has lined up with plenty of skilful players during his career, including the likes of Willian and Pedro Rodriguez at Chelsea.
However, the Belgium international made a surprise choice when asked to name the most skilful team-mate he has ever played with.
The 24-year-old PFA player of the year picked Arsenal flop Gervinho as the most tricky player he has ever featured alongside.
Hazard played alongside the Ivorian at Lille before his transfer to Chelsea in 2012, with Gervinho scoring 36 goals and notching up 21 assists in 93 games for the French club before his switch to Emirates Stadium.
And the Chelsea star believes that Gervinho, who failed to produce consistent performances at Arsenal before being sold to Roma in August 2013, is the most skilful player he has featured with.
Asked which of his former team-mates he counts as the most skilful, Hazard told Chelsea’s website: “I played with Gervinho at Lille, he had a lot of skill and he was very quick as well.
“In the national team we have a lot of them: Yannick Carrasco, a young player at Atletico Madrid, Dries Mertens, Kevin De Bruyne, Kevin Mirallas, they are all very good and like to show their skills in matches.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature when Chelsea host Bournemouth on Saturday.
