Ex-Liverpool striker reacts to James McClean’s Jurgen Klopp criticism
Don Hutchinson tells James McClean to focus on his football after his criticism of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Don Hutchinson has told West Brom midfielder James McClean to focus on his football after the Irishman’s recent criticism of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Republic of Ireland international branded Klopp as an idiot after the German refused to shake hands with West Brom manager Tony Pulis following Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Anfield in the Premier League.
McClean, who moved to the Baggies from Sunderland in 2013, criticised the former Borussia Dortmund head coach following a tempestuous encounter between the Merseyside outfit and West Brom.
“I have got a lot of respect for the man because he done a great job at [Borussia] Dortmund, but I think he is a bit of an idiot to be honest. On the game on Sunday you can’t act that way. Win, lose or draw you have got to be respectful,” McClean told BBC Sport.
However, former Liverpool striker Hutchinson wasn’t impressed with McClean’s criticism of popular Reds manager, who took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers at Anfield in August.
