Ex-Man United star: Ryan Giggs key to Anthony Martial’s development
Mikael Silvestre says Ryan Giggs can help Manchester United striker Anthony Martial to improve
Ryan Giggs has a key role to play in the development of Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, according to Mikael Silvestre.
The 20-year-old has seen his impressive early-season form disappear in recent months and Martial has only managed to score one goal in his last 10 games for Louis van Gaal’s side.
He will have the words and the will to build a good relationship with Anthony to help him improve

Martial moved to the Red Devils in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side Monaco on the final day of the summer transfer window, becoming Europe’s most-expensive teenager.
Former France and United defender Silvestre is confident that Martial will improve in the coming months and years, adding that Giggs has a key role to play with the young striker.
“I didn’t know him [Martial] much,” Silvestre told Onmisport.
“I discovered him straight away. I saw that he had the potential to be at the top.
“We will see long term. At a club like Manchester United, there are expectations. At some point, he will start to feel the pressure. He will improve and then people will not forgive him if he doesn’t score in two or three games in a row.
“I think that Ryan will have a good relationship with Anthony to help him improve.
“Even though Ryan was a winger, he played with strikers. He knows their attitudes, their movements, he knows how to read the game.
“He will have the words and the will to build a good relationship with Anthony to help him improve.”
United are in fourth place and five points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City after 16 games.
