Fantasy Football: Hector Bellerin, Romelu Lukaku and more – this week’s best picks
Iqbal Johal takes a look at the best picks for your Fantasy Football team ahead of this weekend's Premier League fixtures
Jack Butland (£4.9m) The Stoke stopper has been in scintillating form this season, keeping six clean sheets in his last eight matches. He is still the highest scoring goalkeeper with 74 points and has arguably been the best number one in the Premier League this season. Stoke take on a West Ham side who haven’t won for five matches, so a seventh clean sheet for Butland is possible.
Toby Alderweireld (£5.6m) The Belgian has been a revelation since joining in the summer from Atletico Madrid. Contributing to five clean sheets, Alderweireld has won backers 73 points this season, with only Chris Smalling bettering that. Without defeat since the opening match of the season, Spurs take on struggling Newcastle with more points on offer from the 26-year-old.
Hector Bellerin (£5.9m) Scoring 58 points this season, six defenders have more but the right can will be a threat going forward against a hapless Aston Villa side. Villa are the joint-lowest scorers with 13 goals, so points are on offer from both ends of the pitch for the 20-year-old.
Riyad Mahrez (£6.9m) A bargain at under £7m, the Leicester star is the top-scoring player this season, netting a whopping 119 points. Last week, his fabulous hat-trick against Swansea won 21 points for players and with 10 goals and six assists, he is certainly the form player of the Premier League.
Kevin De Bruyne (£10.9m) City’s record signing has 71 points to his name this season, scoring four and assisting six. With a home match against manager-less Swansea, you would back De Bruyne to get back to his scoring ways after a disappointing week against Stoke.
Striker and captain’s pick
Romelu Lukaku (£9.1m) The Everton forward brought up his century tally for the season, by scoring in the 1-1 draw to Palace. With six goals in five – and 11 for the season – the Belgian is in the form of his life, which looks set to continue with a trip to relegation-threatened Norwich. This also makes him the captain’s pick for week 16.
