Former Liverpool star reveals Jurgen Klopp’s biggest problem ahead of Newcastle clash
Jamie Carragher says Jurgen Klopp is facing a selection headache ahead of Newcastle United v Liverpool
Jamie Redknapp believes Jurgen Klopp is facing a selection headache ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds were 6-1 winners against Southampton in the League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday night as Klopp’s second-string thrashed Ronald Koeman’s side.
Divock Origi opened his account for the Merseyside outfit as the Belgium international scored a hat-trick against the Saints in the Capital One Cup.
And former Liverpool captain Redknapp reckons Klopp is going to find it difficult to pick a starting line-up after a string of impressive performances.
“Jurgen Klopp’s biggest problem is what eleven he’s going to pick,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“Everybody is in such good form. Origi scored a hattrick and won’t play on Sunday, if you score a hattrick you’re usually guaranteed to play.”
Klopp’s Liverpool side are nine points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City ahead of their trip to Steve McClaren’s struggling Newcastle United side at St James’ Park on Sunday.
The Reds have won six of their opening 14 Premier League games this season, beating Stoke City, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, defending champions Chelsea, leaders Manchester City and Swansea City.
