Gary Lineker predicts where Arsenal, Tottenham will finish this season
Gary Lineker is expecting Manchester City to just pip Arsenal to the Premier League title this season
Gary Lineker believes that Manchester City are likely to pip Arsenal to the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners and the Citizens are widely expected to be the main challengers for the top-flight crown in 2016, with Arsenal currently top of the table and three points above City.
Arsenal are looking to win their first Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign, while City are looking to regain the trophy they last lifted in 2014.
Lineker believes that the title is likely to come down to a straight shootout between Arsenal and City, although he does feel that Tottenham Hotspur also have an outside chance.
In a video posted on his official Twitter account, Lineker said: “Who do I think is going to win the Premier League? I suspect it will be either Manchester City or Arsenal.
“It’s going to be really tight between the two, 50/50 I think because they’re both inconsistent – brilliant on their day but then all of a sudden they’ll have a lapse.
“If I had to put my life on it, I’d probably go with Manchester City.
“[But] don’t rule Tottenham out either. They are probably a little bit too inexperienced yet, a little bit young. But they’ve got a big squad there now. They definitely have an outside chance.
“My top four is Manchester City just over Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action with a home clash against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon, while City travel to Watford on the same day. Tottenham, meanwhile, travel to Everton on Sunday.
